Tabakalera

Tabakalera is a centre for contemporary culture with a dual vocation: to be a production centre and to offer a public programme of activities. This centre is nothing more and nothing less than an old tobacco factory, which, while conserving part of its original façade, has been remodelled and designed to house various multicultural spaces. We love discovering its interior, climbing the old wooden stairs that it still preserves.
This building, a mixture of old and new, houses the “Elías Querejeta” film school, the headquarters of the San Sebastián International Film Festival, with various multicultural rooms, local artists’ shops. At the entrance, there is a large room where there are permanent exhibitions of painting and photography with free access. We recommend going up to the 5th floor, one of the terraces with the best views of the city.
