Cristina Enea Park<\/h3>\n
Located in the geographical centre of the city and surrounded by the Urumea River, Cristina Enea could be considered the “lung” of the city. The space it occupies was once the estate of the Dukes of Mandas, who themselves decided to donate it to the city council for the enjoyment of all the people of San Sebastian. As conditions, they established that it could not be built on or used for any other purpose, as well as keeping the name of the Duchess (Cristina Brunetti y Gayoso de los Cobos). Nowadays, its almost 100,000 m2 offer several paths through which to stroll and contemplate a great variety of botanical species and with the possibility of coming across its famous peacocks, which run free in the park.
\nAccessible within a 20-minute walk from Villa Favorita, we think it is a beautiful place to visit and disconnect from the hustle and bustle of the city.<\/p>\n
Mount Urgull<\/h3>\n
Much more than a park, Mount Urgull is the main witness to the history of Donostia – San Sebasti\u00e1n as it was the mountain itself that protected the first settlers at its feet almost 1000 years ago from the north-westerly winds.
\nOver time, the city grew and the mountain was fortified, becoming a strategic enclave during periods of war in Europe.
\nA walk to the top will allow you to discover the remains of the constructions from this period, such as the walls, the castle, the cannon batteries, the watchtowers… And all of this surrounded by lush and varied vegetation, the unmistakable smell of the sea and privileged views of Donostia-San Sebasti\u00e1n.
\nHistory, landscape and a surprising tranquillity despite being so close to the city centre make us understand the Gascon meaning of its name: Pride.
